Our next year starts October 1 so here's a few things to get excited about:

- Hoan MSN and MKE are each adding 10 new community leaders to the group.
- 15 amazing people have raised their hands to be a part of the new Membership Committee. 
- Hoan dinners are so good groups have been huddled under tents all week just to connect.  ( Shoutout Molly! ) 
- 2021 Q1 programming is announced next week.
- The Hoan shirt is solid black and the quarantine wine stains don't show up.
- Hoan Bridge lights will be lit in less than a month and YES, we're doing something special for the Hoanies
- We have a yoga and cocktails event lined up to cap off the summer.

The Ask - We need 15 volunteers to record a 15 minute video at Palmer ( we'll videotape ) discussing an area of expertise you can share with the next generation.

Exploding the myth of de facto segregation arising from private prejudice or the unintended consequences of economic forces, Rothstein describes how the American government systematically imposed residential segregation: with undisguised racial zoning; public housing that purposefully segregated previously mixed communities; subsidies for builders to create whites-only suburbs; tax exemptions for institutions that enforced segregation; and support for violent resistance to African Americans in white neighborhoods. A groundbreaking, “virtually indispensable” study that has already transformed our understanding of twentieth-century urban history ( Chicago Daily Observer),  The Color of Law forces us to face the obligation to remedy our unconstitutional past.
